Intuitive Buildings Laboratory
A team of EDL scientists, engineers, and graduate students are outfitting a laboratory with imaging hardware to optimize scene interpretation for anticipatory and task-adaptive lighting control in commercial settings.
Partnered with researchers from Utah State University and Weber State University, the lab will couple the optimization of scene analysis with the most current research in human behavior factors to develop integrated systems for commercial buildings that could reduce the building’s energy consumption by as much as fifty percent through lighting and HVAC control.
