Facilities & Equipment
EDL is located in North Logan, Utah, on USU's Innovation Campus as part of the USU Research Foundation complex. EDL has access to state‐of‐the‐art facilities, including:
- Inductive power transfer lab
- Solar lighting test facility
- Comprehensive machine shop
- Electronics assembly laboratory for printed circuit board design and development
- Laboratories for full optical, mechanical, and electrical system design and assembly
To help meet EDL’s current facility needs, a team of scientists, engineers, and graduate students are outfitting an intuitive building laboratory with imaging hardware to optimize scene interpretation for anticipatory and task-adaptive lighting control in commercial settings. EDL plans to build a test site for vehicle and roadway electrification and, in the near future, will also have access to a hybrid energy laboratory being built at the Bingham Research Center.
