Now more than just a battery that powers your car, 22 year-old engineer Hunter Wu is implementing a plan to install electric pads into the nation's highways that will transfer electricity wirlessly to a plate on the bottom of your car and allow you to drive longer without fuel, and eventually completely cut ourselves off of fuel based cars!
The electric car is now being mass produced. The reality of an electric highway where these cars are powered wirelessly by electricity from the road is on the horizon thanks to 22 year-old Hunter Wu, who is leading an engineering team to develop an electric road system for the nation's highways they call, Wireless Advanced Vehicle Electricfication, or WAVE. This system will power a future of electric cars. SQRadio presents this profile of the future of electric transportation.
Which idea is more practical, an electric road or a better battery? Time will reveal the future of our roadways. SQRadio is produced by Sheri Quinn and Suzi Montgomery. For more information visit sqradio.org.
